The 7 Essentials to Pack in Your Carry On For Digital Nomads

Are you headed out for the holidays? Or are you taking a work vacation to fully immerse yourself in the laptop lifestyle? No matter where you are headed, you will need some essentials to take with you in your carry-on, whether you are traveling by plane, train, or tuk-tuk.

As digital nomads, we really do have the luxury of being able to pick up your stuff and work from anywhere. But what are the necessities to make our lives easier? We've rounded up our essentials and favourites that we carry with us when traveling for work or for pleasure (but usually we try to combine a bit of both)!

Keep your passport, boarding passes, travel money, and any other important information secure in a sophisticated travel wallet. Not only do they look and feel luxurious, they are so helpful when traveling to keep all your documents organised.

We love this one from from Aspinal of London, while Pauline has one from Smythson. It will honestly last you a lifetime. And you'll always know where your passport is.

Laptop. Phone. Chargers. The first two are a given (or at least they should be on most airlines…) but a good portable charger can be hard to find. It's a bit pricy, but we recommend the Poweradd Pilot Pro2, a stylish and slim option which will charge up to 3 of your devices, including your laptop, at full power, all at the same time.

There are also some really stylish power banks that you can get from places like Target in the states or Kate Spade - you decide whether you want to splurge on form or function.

While we are at it, make sure you have a universal plug adapter so you can juice up in any country, or if you have friends visiting, they are sorted. You can easily find one at the airport or on Amazon.

Dry skin is a given when you’re at high altitude. We like to soothe our dry lips with the Shea Moisture lip balms. Made with all natural ingredients, the balms hydrate with long-lasting effects because they sink into your skin, not sit on top.

Toothbrush and toothpaste are a given, but we like carrying around a few of the Cocowhite oil pulling sachets. They help our mouths feel refreshed at any time throughout the day.

A fresh face never felt so good during and after a few hours’ travel. These facial wipes can get the toughest make up off and leave you feeling refreshed.

A rollerball option of your favourite fragrance is perfect for your flight. Save yourself from any accidental leaks or spills with a rollerball and ensure you smell your best as you travel without overwhelming the passenger next to you. And it's so easy to fit in that plastic bag without taking up much space!

Try this wrinkle-free, non-iron classic white shirt from System of Motion: When you are on the go, your clothes need to keep up. The shirt is scientifically manufactured to keep you cool and dry, no matter how busy you are. With this shirt, you stay looking fresh and clean ALL. DAY. This piece goes from suitcase to boardroom to plane to coffee shop like a dream. Tie it up while you relax on the beach or pair it with a simple pencil skirt to stay co-working space chic. It's a must have.

Clara is wearing the Ludwig shirt from System of Motion.

And we love these comfortable and stretchy trousers from Oliver Bonas. They are comfortable to wear on the plane or train, but professional enough once you step out on land and need to head to the office.

A warm, oversized scarf acts as a sweater, blanket, and a style accessory. No-brainer. Even if you are heading to work in Bali or Berlin, a multi-function scarf can save the day.

Headphones – These noise-cancelling headphones from House of Marley are stylish and comfortable to wear throughout the flight and perfect for when you want to focus and do work while out and about.

Save money at the airport and bring your favourite refillable travel mug or bottle with your trusted coffee packets that you know will get the job down at 5am. Plus staying hydrated when you travel is so important, so this mug always comes in handy for us.

These are our top picks for carry-on essentials while traveling as a digital nomad or while you are on holiday.

Where are you headed to next and what can't you travel without??
